'Burhi Aitar Puran' is based on Assam's agitation against the foreigners residing in Assam during the tenure 1979 to 1983.Violence,non-violence,majority-minority are the issues that come to the mind of a young character who questions them in the novel. It is a novel to bring social awareness in the north eastern region. Dr. Birendra Kumar Bhattacharyya is said to aware the Indian citizens of the north eastern region always tried to inspire people with his writings to be patriotic at the times of war and in social, economic and political crisis.
